Emergency Response Team presence on Alpine Road in Campbell River

Campbell River RCMP responded to a report of an individual in a Mental Health Crisis at approximately 2:30 pm on February, 21st, 2025.

When police arrived to the scene, the individual barricaded themself inside a residential unit at which time local police sought assistance from the Vancouver Island Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Crisis Negotiators. 

The standoff ended at approximately 7:45 pm, when the barricaded person gave themself up to police without injury. 

"The Campbell River RCMP would like to thank the public for their patience during the enhanced police presence on Alpine Rd. We would also like to thank the members from ERT and the Negotiation Team, who were able to bring the situation to a peaceful conclusion," said Cst. Maury Tyre.
