Maple Ridge B.C.- Ridge Meadows RCMP and municipal staff have teamed up with students from Garibaldi Secondary School, to bring awareness to bullying.

On February 26th, you will see Canadians across the Country taking part in Pink Shirt Day events to show support and to bring awareness to anti-bullying initiatives.

This year Ridge Meadows RCMP partnered with School District 42, specifically Garibaldi Secondary School students, along with their neighbours Blue Mountain Elementary School.

The students at Garibaldi Secondary took a leadership role, and choreographed a dance routine and then taught it to Ridge Meadows RCMP members, and municipal employees.

On February 26, 2025 the Ridge Meadows RCMP as well as students from Garibaldi Secondary performed a surprise flash mob at Blue Mountain Elementary School, as well spoke with the students about what they can do to put an end to bullying.

The collaborative dance crew then surprised students through the hallways at Garibaldi Secondary School, again performing the well choreographed dance routine.

Ridge Meadows RCMP wants to encourage everyone to promote kindness and inclusivity- this initiative was out of the comfort zone for many involved.

Ridge Meadows RCMP was grateful to be a part of an opportunity to work with students from Garibaldi Secondary in creating a healthy and respectful initiative for Pink Shirt Day.

We were proud to have danced beside some incredibly talented students from Garibaldi Secondary school, their willingness to work with us and to lead the dance routine shows dedication to making a positive impact in the community, states Sergeant Brad Gibson.
