Charges laid in collision between vehicle and pedestrians

On April 22, 2024 Squamish RCMP responded to a report that a pedestrian, pushing a stroller with an infant, had been struck by a vehicle while crossing the crosswalk at the intersection of Second Avenue and Pemberton Avenue. The driver allegedly failed to remain at the scene and was located and arrested a couple blocks away.

On March 11, 2025, Kyle Luca of Squamish, BC was charged with two counts of impaired driving causing bodily harm, dangerous driving causing bodily harm, fail to stop causing bodily harm and dangerous driving.

We are committed to keeping our communities safe and are pleased that the culmination of this investigation has led to charges, says Sgt. Dallas Langley of the Sea to Sky RCMP.
