File # 2023-3320

On July 10th, 2023, the Nelson Rural RCMP responded to a report of dynamite inside a U-Haul van which had been abandoned on a property in the 3000 block of Easy Road, in Passmore, BC. The vehicle had been parked on the property for several days prior.

The care-takers of the property observed what they believed to be dynamite with blasting caps inside the vehicle.

RCMP attended and confirmed the items to be dynamite likely from the 1970’s. The E-Division RCMP Explosives Disposal Unit arrived and were able to safely dispose of the items.

The vehicle, along with evidence collected, was seized and will examined. The investigation is ongoing.

Should anyone have information, they’re encouraged to contact police.
