Property crime

Lytton, Lillooet

Over the past several weeks there has been an uptick in property crime in Lillooet.

Please be cognisant of suspicious activity and report any property crimes to police. Property crime includes thefts, mischiefs, break and enters.

Tips for property crime prevention:

Utilize locks (whether it may be locking vehicle doors, sheds, trailers, a good lock is a great deterrent)
Cameras and lighting (Cameras and good lighting are a great way to deter crimes of opportunity)
It is also a good practice to keep accounting of serial numbers and receipts for high value items. Such information helps police recover stolen items. In the past RCMP in Lillooet have used this information to return items valued in the tens of thousands of dollars to their respective owners
