Police investigating residential break-in

Kamloops City

2023-07-13 14:09 PDT

File # 2023-24857

Kamloops RCMP officers are looking for video and witnesses, after a residence was broken into yesterday afternoon.

On July 12, 2023, a resident on the 300-block of Oak Road reported he had been away from his house for a couple of hours and returned home to discover someone had been there while he was gone.

Based on the placement of items and things that were missing and left behind, it is suspected that someone entered the house while the homeowner was out and spent some time there before leaving, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson.

The investigation is ongoing with the assistance of the detachment’s Forensic Identification Unit.

Anyone who witnessed, has information, or security cameras in the area that may have captured anything that could help further the investigation, is asked to please contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2023-24857.
