The letter appeared to be on official RCMP letter head and stated that the person was being investigated for accessing child pornography. This letter has been reported at several detachments over the past few weeks. If you received this email, please delete it and do not respond. (2025-1562)

Checks on the male confirmed that they had an unendorsed warrant for their arrest. The male was taken into custody and held in the Kitimat RCMP cells until a bail hearing was able to be completed the following day. (2024-2344)
On May 12th, the Kitimat RCMP was advised of a shoplifting incident that had occurred at a business on the 800 block of Tsimshian Blvd a few days previous.
