Theft
On October 11, 2024 at approximately 8:44 p.m. police received a report of a theft that took place at the Powell River Recreation Complex. Some time between 6:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on the same day, someone took a black purse containing ID’s, a black Samsung phone, vehicle keys and a blue and purple sweatshirt from one of the lockers in the changeroom. The investigation is ongoing, and police are asking any potential witnesses to contact the Powell River RCMP at 604-485-6255.
Indecent Act
On October 12th at approximately 8:22 p.m. police responded to a report of a man committing an indecent act in the pool at the Powell River Recreation Complex. A witness provided a description of the man and advised police he may still be in the building. As police arrived, they observed someone matching the description provided, and at the same time the witness came out and positively identified him. He was arrested by police and later released on an undertaking with conditions. He is to appear in court at a later date. The investigation is ongoing, and police are asking any potential witnesses to contact the Powell River RCMP at 604-485-6255.
