Update to sexual exploitation warning

Cranbrook

2025-04-02 11:44 PDT

File # 2025-1550

The Cranbrook RCMP would like to update the public on the police-issued warning regarding online extortion and sexual interference that was released on March 11, 2025.

The Cranbrook RCMP General Investigation Section with the assistance of General Duty have arrested a 20-year-old Cranbrook man in relation to these and other online offences.

This is a direct result of the hard work by our local officers that remain dedicated to the protection of public safety, says Cpl. Felicia Parker.

The accused male was arrested for several sexual and online offences and was released on an Undertaking scheduled to appear in Cranbrook Court at a future date.

Police want to remind parents that it is important to be aware of your child’s online activity and remain diligent by educating yourselves and your children and to set boundaries in order to stay safe online.
